Book your stay

A little coast. A little adventure. Plenty of time.

Anglesea has a way of filling a day without making it feel busy. There is a beach to wander, a river to follow, somewhere to stop for coffee and a beautiful stretch of Victoria waiting beyond the town. Stay a few days at Barrakee and give yourself time to enjoy it.

Enjoy Anglesea on foot

Barrakee is within walking distance of the village shops and cafes, the river, parks and the main beach. Pick up something for lunch, find a spot by the water or take an unhurried walk before heading home.

Being close to these everyday holiday essentials means you can keep the day's plans simple.

Find your kind of beach day

Anglesea's main beach is an obvious place to begin, whether you are heading out for a walk or planning time on the sand. Nearby Point Roadknight offers a sheltered bay and another setting for a beach day.

For a different view of the Surf Coast, take a drive towards the famous surf breaks around Bells Beach. Enjoy the scenery, watch the waves and leave time for a stop in Torquay.

For swimming, choose a patrolled beach and swim between the flags. Conditions and patrol times vary.

Coffee first. See where the day goes.

Walk into the village for a cafe breakfast, browse the shops or pick up provisions for dinner at the house. The river and nearby parks offer another reason to slow down and spend time outside.

Some days need little more than a good coffee, a picnic and a comfortable place to come back to.

See the coast one step at a time

The Surf Coast Walk connects the region's beaches, coastal scenery and bushland, with shorter sections that can fit into your stay. Choose a walk to suit your group and leave time to pause along the way.

Check current track conditions and closures before setting out, and follow local signs.
