Book your stay

Privacy policy

This policy explains how Barrakee Beach House handles personal information relating to enquiries and bookings.

Information we collect

We collect contact details, the names of the guests staying, vehicle registration numbers, details of any dogs, booking correspondence and payment records relevant to arranging your stay. We collect this information from the website forms, emails, telephone calls and text messages, or from someone making a booking on your behalf.

Please provide only information relevant to the stay. If you book for other guests, make sure you have their permission to share their details with us.

How we use and share information

We use your information to answer enquiries, provide quotes, confirm bookings, communicate arrival arrangements, process deposits, balances, bonds and refunds, maintain booking records and deal with any issues during or after a stay.

We use service providers for website hosting, email delivery, calendar scheduling and, where offered, card payments. We limit sharing to what is needed for these services, or what is required or authorised by law. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card number.

Storage and protection

We hold booking information in the systems used to administer the house. We take reasonable steps to protect it from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. We retain it for booking administration and any required business or legal purposes, then securely delete or de-identify it when no longer needed.

Access, corrections and privacy concerns

To request access to or correction of your information, or raise a privacy concern, contact the host using the details on this website. We may need to verify your identity before providing access or making changes.

If you make a privacy complaint, we will acknowledge it, review what happened and explain the outcome and any action taken. If your concern remains unresolved, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where it has jurisdiction: www.oaic.gov.au.

We will publish changes to this policy on this page.
